All-Star Football Game

Dear Coach:

Once again the Al-Amin Shrine Temple of Corpus Christi is proud to host the Annual Coastal Bend High School All-Star Football Game.  

This year the game will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Buccaneer Stadium, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.  All-Star Coaches for this year will be Michael Troutman from Sinton HS and Charlie Reeves from Calallen HS.  Currently, 50 high schools have been invited to recommend from one to five outstanding senior football players to participate.  Practice fields and practice times will be set by the All-Star coaches, TBA.

Please review and complete the enclosed nomination form and enclose a brief biography of the student. The seniors selected to the team must supply their own equipment.  PLEASE ONLY NOMINATE PLAYERS THAT YOU KNOW WILL PARTICIPATE. Student and his parent must sign a waiver not to hold the Shrine, School and/or coaches responsible for any injuries.  All-Star selection will be on April 20th at the Al Amin Shrine by the All-Star coaches. 

All net proceeds received from the football game will go into the Al-Amin Shrine Operating Fund which has the primary objective to support the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Coastal Bend High School Shriner Classic All-Star Football Game

Nominating Guidelines

All nominees must be seniors who have completed all high school athletic competition.  Any athlete (who graduated at mid-term and) enrolled in college is not eligible to be selected for an all-star team

Each member school of the Coastal Bend Coaches Association (CBCA) will automatically have an all-star if nominated by his head coach or designee.

Each school can nominate up to 5 players.

Each team shall consist of two offensive units and two defensive units including one bona-fide kicker and punter or kicker/punter combination.  In general, the division between East and West will be IH37.  It may not always be a true dividing line, as a balanced number of each side may dictate otherwise.  

To be eligible for to participate in the All-Star Football Game, all nominations are due no later than Sunday, April 20, 2025, for team selection.

The following documents are required students selected as All-Star Football participants.

1. Hold harmless waiver concerning the Shriners and Coaches
2. A copy of a passed physical examination for the current school year.
3. An agreement to abide by rules and regulations set forth by Shriners game Committee
4. Proof of medical insurance coverage or a signed waiver by a parent of legal guardian
5. An agreement acknowledging that each player is responsible for his own transportation to/from all practices and the All-Star game.
6. A signed statement from your high school coach, parent or legal guardian, that a routine of conditioning has taken place in preparation for the All-Star practices and game.
